April 2012 Prayer Letter

It feels good to be home! When we returned back to our city last month we hit the ground running; continuing our language school studies, starting a Sunday school class and getting back involved in the ministry.

As we reported last month, upon our return, I was given the opportunity to start a Sunday school class aimed toward college aged guys. It is has been exciting and we have seen the class grow every week so far. Many that are coming are not Christians but are interested in what the Bible has to say. I am teaching through John praying they might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing they might have life through his name. Please pray with me concerning this matter.

We are excited to announce our plans, Lord willing, for this fall. Our two years of language learning will come to an end and we have been thinking about which city to start a church. Last month my co-laborer and I made a survey trip to another city in Northeast, China. After visiting this city and after much prayer and thought, I have assuredly gathered that this city is where we will move to start a church.

Lord willing, we will be moving there this fall and getting our things in order before we take a short furlough (returning to the USA). Our projected dates, as of now, for being in the States is December through February (3 months) returning to China in March of 2013 for a full 4 year term, Lord willing.

With that being said, we would love the opportunity to be able to present Project China to your church whether you are currently partnering with us or not. If you would like for us to come by, I would be honored for the opportunity to preach and present Project China. Please email me (this is the best way to schedule a meeting with our time zone being 12 hours ahead of EST). We will not be able to visit all of our current supporters on this return trip but will do our best with those who would like to have us in.

Brethren, please continue to pray for our final time here in our current city. We want to see God continue to do great things! We have been blessed to be able to work in a great ministry and under great fellow laborers in the Lord. We have learned so much and count it a privilege to have been able to live and work with the team here.

Concerning the churches, we have about 80% of the funds promised to help the two churches that are currently being planted. The churches are doing well and it is an exciting time to get involved in China Church Planting. If you would like to be involved, you can give online at www.projectchina.org or you can send donations to Project China, P.O. Box 442, Alpharetta, GA, 30009, Note: “China Church Planting”.

As this letter comes to a close, we desire to see more men surrender to full-time ministry. Pray for God to raise up five men or families to come and join us here in China. Also, pray the Lord will raise up three Chinese men that will surrender to the ministry and give all to the Lord.

Thank you for being a part of our team, Project China, with your prayers and financial support!

P.S. A new 2012 family picture is available upon request. You can send your request to mark@projectchina.org and we will provided you with a digital copy.
