April 2013 Prayer Letter

We have so much to praise God for this month! He has been so good to us in allowing us to serve Him and be a small part of what He is doing around the world. Three praises:

(1) Our visas were approved! We have been asking for a few months now for people to be praying about our visa situation. As we did more research, we found what seemed to be an open door for obtaining a new kind of visa. We applied for the visa and went through all the paper work. Finally, we were notified that our visas were approved and we received them back in the mail the day we left for China! The Lord works everything in His timing. Praise His holy name!

(2) We are back in China! We finished our mini furlough and flew back to China on Wednesday, March 27th. We had a good time in the States and are thankful for everyone who helped us out while we were back. We truly are blessed with great friends, family, and partnering churches! We thank the Lord for allowing us to be back home in China and to continue laboring in His name!

(3) We are planting a church! We had the first services of Dalian Gospel Baptist Church. We had a total of four Chinese come on our first Sunday and we are looking forward to seeing God build His church! Please labor in prayer with us for this church plant. We want to see this church established and leaders trained for the sake of the gospel and glory of God!

It has been a busy month, but we are more excited than ever about what God is doing in China.

Along with theses praises, please remember the following in prayer:

  • Language – After four months of speaking no Chinese, my language is a little rough. Pray that I will be able to clearly articulate the preaching of God’s word and my language abilities will increase.
  • Sickness – Our family has been fighting sickness for four to five months now. Our youngest daughter had ear tubes put in the Wednesday before we left (Praise!) but she still is dealing with ear infections. The rest of us seem to be fighting an everlasting cold.
  • Laborers – Will you come and help us plant more churches in China?

Thank you for being a part of our team, Project China, with your prayers and financial support!
