Weekly Mind Dump: Project China Shirts!

✪ To show support for the Project China team who was recently deported from China and to help raise money for the churches whose services were stopped on Easter, our team is selling a limited edition Project China Shirt with the phrase “Our God Always Wins” on the back and the tradition Project China Logo on the front. The shirts cost $15 and you can buy them in Black, Brown and Pink. The shirts are only available to purchase until May 25.

✪ Our teammates have left the country. We are the only ones left with our Project China team at the moment. There are two families on deputation raising funds to get here as soon as possible. The other families who just left will survey Taiwan and then return to the States as they make plans to reenter the country or go to a nearby Chinese speaking country. (One of the missionary wives and her son are having visa problems leaving the country, but will be leaving in the next week or so. Pray for them.)

✪ If you are interested in helping the missionaries who are returning to the States or you want to help the two missionaries who are raising funds to come to China, then please contact me and I will give you their contact information.

✪ We returned from Harbin encouraged by the believers there. They continued having services and preaching the gospel in spite of the recent persecutions. Pray for them as they are now on their own. We know the Lord is with them and will do great things there!

✪ Video: Blessed be the Name of the Lord – With everything going on recently and having several friends with family members who have passed away, I put together a video with the lyrics to a song that encouraged me when we were going through a hard time with Wesley. It helped me bless the name of the Lord in the middle of the storm.

✪ Recently Read: What Did You Expect?: Redeeming the Realities of Marriage – This is one of the best books that I have read on marriage. It comes at the situation from a completely different angle. This book has helped me see that my selfishness and laziness is what often causes conflict in our marriage. I would encourage all Christian couples to read this book. From the book: “So, we rest in God’s wisdom and grace, but we do not rest in our marriage. As long as we are two sinners living in a fallen world, there will be work to do.” [1]

✪ Recently Read: I Am a Church Member: Discovering the Attitude that Makes the Difference – I also really enjoyed this short book. It is clear and to the point. This would be a great book for churches to have new members read when seeking to become a member of their church. From the book: “Biblical church membership gives without qualification. Biblical membership views the tithes and offerings as joyous giving. There are no strings attached. Biblical church membership serves and ministers as a natural way of doing things.” [2]

✪ Past Post: A Thought About City Life – I wonder if living in the city makes it easier to believe in humanism.

✪ We are moving forward here and looking forward to all that God is doing! We are seeing young men respond to the gospel! What an exciting time to be serving in China! Will you come! Will you give all up to join us here on the field? If there ever was a time, it’s now!
