August 2014 Prayer Letter

The Lord’s blessings are never-ending, and we are humbled the Lord continues to allow us to partake in them. God is good.

New Baby: Our newest little princess was born healthy and beautiful on July 23 (weighed 7 lbs 16 oz and was 20 inches long). We praise the Lord for allowing us to raise another child for his honor and glory.

In the USA: We are still in the States and enjoying our time here. Now that the baby is born, our next step is to get all the necessary paperwork done so we can return to China by the first of next month.

More Persecution: Last month, I reported that a side benefit of our leaving was to allow the situation to settle down. It seems the Lord had his hand in this. A short time after we returned to the States, the police stopped the Thursday service at one of our churches and detained four people from the church for questioning. After the finished questioning them that evening, they were released.

The police and religious bureau also confiscated the churches savings and offerings totaling $3,880 (the money the church would use to buy bible, tracts, pay for church rent, etc.). They also took church t-shirts that the church just bought with the church name on them (about 180 shirts) and some of our discipleship materials (15-20 books) and a bible.

The men of the church were given a typed letter stating that because of “organizing illegal religious activities” the money was being confiscated as “illegal income.” The church then had to find a new bulging to rent. They took up a love offering, were given some rent money back, and some others gave enough for them to rent a new place for three months. They never stopped having services, and they continue to serve the Lord in spite of these circumstances.

The church has been provided with about $1,800 of the money confiscated. If you would like to be a blessing to these churches and help provided the last amount, you can give a love offering to: Vision Baptist Missions, PO Box 442, Alpharetta, GA 30009 and mark “DGBC-China” in the memo.

I am proud of the church and the young men leading the churches in our absence. Pray for God to continue to work in these young men’s lives as they are considering full-time ministry.

Thank you for being a part of our team, Project China, with your prayers and financial support!
