Weekly Mind Dump: Traveling

✪ Sunday morning I started teaching a 3-week course on Personal Evangelism to the Singles Sunday school class at our home church.

✪ Sunday night we had a great meeting in Macon, GA. We enjoyed giving a report to the church on all the God has done in China. Thank you church family for your kindness and partnering with us.

✪ From here on out, we will be traveling to churches on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights until it is time for us to return to China. We have three Wednesday nights still available, if anyone is interested, please contact me.

✪ The wife and baby are doing good. Please continue to remember them in prayer as they grow in strength and health.

Communication Notice: In your communications to us please be as open as possible about the gospel. If someone is spying in on our communications (Facebook, Twitter, Websites, Blogs, E-mails, etc.) we want to make sure the gospel is clearly presented. Please use words that are easy to understand so they know we are in love with Jesus and that Jesus loves them. Please do not misspell the words, as this could cause confusion, and if you are able, please translate them into Chinese (incase their English isn’t that great).

Security & Coded Message Notice: As we get closer to returning to China, we are continuing the necessary steps to protect us and the work in China. We thought this would be a good time to remind you of a few security rules: Any coded messages to us will be ignored, since we don’t want them thinking we are workers of a random company on a m1ss1ons to see the c0nvers1on of the people and who are always “dunking” people. We want our message to be clear, “turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein … repent toward God, and have faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

✪ Recently Read: Jesus the Son of God: A Christological Title Often Overlooked, Sometimes Misunderstood, and Currently Disputed – I was asked a few questions about the term “Son of God” and didn’t put much thought into it, but I really enjoyed the insights that Carson gives about the matter. I also appreciated his comments on Muslim missions and how we must continue to use the term and teach what it means instead of trying to change it to fit a different culture. I recommend this quick read. From the book: “To be frank, it would be good to see less energy devoted to taking us away from the theological richness of the multifaceted biblical affirmations of Jesus’s sonship , and much more energy expended on understanding and then learning how to teach all that the Bible does and does not say about Jesus the Son of God. Then those who are genuinely converted will stand with Christians across centuries and cultures, and quietly and reverently affirm, “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in his only Son Jesus, our Lord.” [cit.31]

✪ Past Post: Confessions & Things Learned – There are four areas that I have been challenged in personally…

✪ We are in the cities of China, but who will go to the villages? Who will reach the thousands of villages that surround the mega cities? Will you go?
