Weekly Mind Dump: Outreach Campaign

✪ We are starting an outreach campaign. Seven men in the church (including myself) are in the process of starting seven individual 10-week seeker Bible studies. Each of these Bible studies will only last ten weeks and are geared towards unbelievers. We are working at finding and inviting people to them now, and we hope to have them all going before May 1st. Please pray with us as we reach out through this means.

✪ My wife’s Bible study with the ladies in the church has gone great. Every Friday when I return home late the house is filled with girls. I have heard from many how they are enjoying the studies and are encouraged by my wife. She also played the piano in the entire service for the English service this past Sunday. Proud of her!

✪ We had two who came on Easter for the first time, come back this past Sunday. Then we had several first time visitors in our English service, including a group from YWAM, who is doing a short-term trip in the city.

✪ The man who was baptized last week officially joined the church this week and we had another lady who wants to join.

✪ This summer is going to be hard on the church because we have 4-5 faithful members who will be graduating university and/or moving to other cities where they found work. They will be greatly missed!

✪ Recently Read: The Truth About Angels and Demons (Tony Evans Speaks Out On…) – I was studying about this topic, so I found this when looking for a short book to read on the subject. It was interesting, short and to the point. From the book: “When necessary, God will direct one of His invisible angels to become visible in the life of a believer in order to accomplish a divinely ordained purpose.” [1]

✪ Recently Read: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: The Chronicles of Narnia – I just finished reading this to my girls, for mine and their first time. We enjoyed the book. I don’t read much fiction, but since I have studied Lewis recently, I thought I would this classic a try. Even if Lewis didn’t mean to give the book a Christian undertone, it is definitely there. From the book: “It means,” said Aslan, “that though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. Her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. But if she could have looked a little further back, into the stillness and the darkness before Time dawned, she would have read there a different incantation. She would have known that when a…” [2]

✪ Paying bills here is a pain. There are no lines and it doesn’t take a long time to do it, but it is about WHEN you can pay the bill. I went to pay our electric and water bill, and they said it was too early. I returned at a later date, and they said it was too late. The billing cycles have me confused!

✪ I added fun to my weekly schedule. Because the church location is so close to our home now, I can go home at lunch for about a half-hour three days a week to play my girls. We are enjoying going outside and playing together!

✪ We are blessed with a great Chinese and American team that we get to work with here. It is exciting to see God raise up more people and to be a part of all that He is doing! There is always room for more! Will you come join us?
