May 2015 Prayer Letter

The weather is warming up here in Northeast China; the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and it is a beautiful season to be serving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

At the end of April and the beginning of May, we wanted to start seven outreach Bible studies to see more unbelievers reached with the gospel. Four of the seven Bible studies are already started. Praise the Lord!

One of the reasons we decided to launch these ten-week Bible studies is because the average Chinese person is ignorant of the Bible and its stories. This makes it hard for them to attend a church service and understand what is going on. Since our church services teach more than just the basics, we need a way to funnel our new visitors and unbelieving friends into a low commitment environment where they are clearly taught the gospel and given the chance to believe in Jesus.

We have found that it best to meet with them outside of normal service times and teach them the fundamentals of Christianity and the gospel. This allows us to encourage unbelievers to come and understand the Bible from a beginners perspective. It gives them an opportunity to ask any questions that they have.

Therefore, myself and six other men in the church are launching seven ten-week Bible study groups all at the same time, but on different days, locations and times.

We have also prepared the material in Chinese and English so that some of the groups can use English as a draw for those interested in it. We are praying for souls to be saved over the next ten+ weeks, and we ask that you join us in prayer.

Thank you! We know that we couldn’t do anything without the help of God’s people. Thank you for giving, praying, and being a part of our team, Project China.
