Another holiday! October 1st (and every October 1st) is the National Day of the People’s Republic of China. This year celebrated the 61st anniversary of the People’s Republic of China since it was founded on October 1, 1949.
Our language school was canceled for a day due to the holiday. Many people and schools get up to ten days off. Our apartment complex had festivities outside celebrating their countries founding. Red lanterns, red carpet and a backdrop for decorations. Balloons, music, games and small performances all taking place early Friday morning. We could see and hear the whole thing from our apartment.
